Feroz gandhi changed his surname from Ghandy to Gandhi when Indira Gandhi was a kid and even before they met ... At that time gandhi was there and was not a father of nation ... Gandhi was almost born to the same mother as Winston Churchill, such was the level of their cooperation all along while portraying himself as Mahatma of India

BTW, Gandhi was never kept in jail for more than a day, such was the fear of ahimsa for British 

they both fought for British in Boer Wars in South Africa, Only Indians can believe patriot presented by the enemy empire to become the mahatma
