i think you dont understand overall RSS attitudes. RSS is basically an agraharam special interest body. They themselves cannot and will not compete in democratic politics which means they have to deal with all these "alaga" janam. But they will secure their agraharam interests by control of BJP.

BJP on other hand has to win elections so has to accomodate to some extent local caste equations. But in case of south - esp in tamil and telugu lands - brahmins see BJP as backdoor chance to control politics again. So they are paranoid about any others getting chances. Look at the way they sent sasikala to jail.
