Till 1999 also it was like that.. 

1999 NZ Tour of India when Sachin was Captain if I am right is last ODI series in whites with red ball in India.. 

Aah ODI series one match Sachin-Dravid had mamoth partnership at LB stadium Hyderabad Sachin Scored 186 Not out and Dravid 150 odd India scored 370 odd.. 

England were kind of pretty late to move to coloured clothing in ODIs in their home series. 

Even some places earlier if D/N Match they used to have White ball games and also England were pretty late to move to D/N games..
