'Brathukamma should be observed as a state festival'

Hyderabad, Sept 25: Ms.Kavita,Telangana Jagruti president and daughter of the TRS chief Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao has demanded that the Brathukamma festival being traditionally observed by women of Telangana should be observed as a state festival.

Ms.Kavita who has attended a function got up to release a poster on the festival here on  Saturday,  said the Bratukamma festival reflected the aspirations of the Telangana women and should be observed as a state festival.

She said the festival also reflected the life style of women in the region. Stating that she would inspire women in large numbers to join the Telangana movement, she also said she would render help creating one crore Bratukamma idols all over the Telangana state soon with the help of one crore women and utilize them for achieving the Telangana state.
