Not really - it depends on civilizational achievements of the group. At one point chinese, koreans, japanese were treated horribly but now they are far more accepted than indians as a group.

i have not seen in texas (i was never there in a desi residentail area) but i saw in NJ areas playing cricket en masse in open areas within community.
