Why Is Lokesh Targeting Jagan?

Nara Lokesh is a failure story in the TDP. Except for being the son of the party’s president N Chandrababu Naidu, nothing would have helped him to become the party’s general secretary, forget about becoming the minister.

Lokesh himself had lost the 2019 general election and had never proved a leader and never won any election.

Now, with the party losing the 2019 elections and no hopes of coming back to power, the party leaders are slowly losing hope and looking towards the BJP or the YSR Congress.

There is resentment growing in the party, with some leaders openly expressing displeasure and many sharing their displeasure within the four walls, about the leadership qualities of Lokesh.

With more leaders losing hope on his leadership and more leaders criticising him, and people finding no future for the TDP under Lokesh leadership, the young leader is struggling hard to prove himself.

Lokesh, to prove himself as a leader, is targeting chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, using provocative language through his speeches and his twitter handle. 

While his twitter handle is managed by some of his journalist associates, his speeches are written and ideas are shared by some senior persons in the party. 

Using both the twitter and party platforms, Lokesh has been hitting Jagan hard, only to be in the lime light. 

Unfortunately for him and his father, Chandrababu Naidu, the YSR Congress chief is not responding. 

Jagan Mohan Reddy had not responded even to one single criticism of these father and son in the last two years.

Jagan ignoring them is more painful and humiliating to the father and son than their own defeat. 

However, undeterred by silence that Jagan maintains, Lokesh is repeatedly making even abusive remarks and throwing challenges, only to hit the headlines.

The latest is his dharna at Alipiri in Tirupati, where he held a dharna asking Jagan to come and swear on the Lord about the murder of Y S Vivekananda Reddy. 

Well, Lokesh may have to hold several such dharnas or even hunger strikes and hurl abuses on Jagan, the YSR Congress chief is set to ignore him, not giving any chance for him to be a leader to challenge Jagan.
