There are too many countries wanting covishield. Sputnik V will be easier to procure for india and the reason why it was approved recently.

Reason why India cannot reach herd immunity even if all of the adult population is vaccinated right now. We have too many kids and until AstraZeneca gets approval, they will be defenseless. Pfizer is in the final stages for it’s vaccine. However, I doubt that it will be used in India.

Right now, 25 lakhs per day chestunnaru, which is 7-7.5 crores per month. (COVAXIN + COVISHIELD)

A second indegenous vaccine from India is in Phase 3 trials. 

France is also almost ready with a vaccine. Right now, India's best relation among all countries is with France. 

15 crores got first dose already.
