Also if it is your own account or parents? If parents they can gift to you upto $250k

Above certain amount you need to show it in your taxes.. saying its gifted.. dont know exact rules and numbers .. check with your tax agent

any indian citizen can send upto 7 lacs from his local india account to US bank account without tax liability. overall yearly limit is 250k dollars. Other than that if amount crosses 7 lacs (Overall in a year) then you will have to pay TCS tax of 5%.

but banks usually eat lot in their own fees and exchange rates. Hdfc ayithe 1000 Rs flat fee + GST of 0.018% + 5 Rs less in exchange rates. so overall ga 1 lac ki 10k thinesthadu. 

This remittance scheme is called "Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS)". Google it.

Best for you is to ask friend who can take Rs and give USD here in US.
