Road rage incident that happened recently - caution and beware

You did good. But, better yet, we should control our instinct and avoid counter attacking. Calling police doesn’t always help in time.

this happened a couple of weeks ago, seeing that video of the maserati driver in Washington DC I wanted to share my experience here.

Was driving back home on a Saturday afternoon with wife sitting next to me. There was a car that broke down in the middle of the road at a junction, I was in the lane left to that car so was proceeding slowly with caution in my lane. Suddenly this Ford F 150 which was in the right lane suddenly cut me off, that pick up truck was behind the car that broke down. There was no turn signal, no indication of any sort, just forcibly cut me off. I honked lightly when he did so, he showed me the middle finger and I did the same right back at him since he was the aggressor. Then he started mouthing off and making hand signs asking me to pull over, I ignored him and continued going my way. He now went all the way to the right most lane, slowed down and started following our car. We were some 3 miles away from our home, and my wife started worrying about what if he ended up following us home. To calm her fears, I noted down his license plate number and called 911 and informed them about everything that went on. They immediately dispatched a police patrol car in the direction which we were driving towards, and advised me to calmly drive towards the police station. I started doing that, I think the asswipe figured that out he immediately took the next right and sped away but not before hurling some more expletives in our direction. I just laughed at his face before he turned right and sped away.

I was contacted by the police after a few minutes asking me if he was still following us, by which time he already left so I thanked them for the co-operation and told them that he wasn't. They said they made a note in their system with that license plate number in case they received any future complaints. I told them he seemed to be one of those guys that would go gun crazy in a road rage incident and they said they will keep an eye out for him in case he does this again in the future. Just sharing my experience in case you experience anyone like this in the future, don't step out of your car or pull over. Call 911 report your location and which direction you are going towards and let them handle this. He was White, maybe in his 50s and had a MAGA hat on as per my wife who got a better look at him since I wasn't driving.

migathadhi antha baane undhi kaani ikkada konchem clarity kaavali.  Nuvvu ala cheppagane vallu ilaa oppesukunnara?  How can you assume/come to a conclusion that he'll go gun crazy?

Yes they didn't agree a 100% to it but said they would make a note it since he seems to have a propensity for road rage. Even the officer that spoke to me later said it's good I called them and informed about this driver.

Yes I shouldn't have responded when he showed me the middle finger I guess, can't help it kastha uduku raktham.

But with my wife being with me most of the time now, I have decided to tone it down a few notches.
