I don't think so.. he is kind of trendsetter for detective novels in his time, where as most others were doing social novels... From the interview it looks like he roamed across the country alone before becoming a writer and uses his traveling experience in his novels/..

I dint read much of his stuff though.

i read some of the stories... he took main concepts from French writer Novels.. i can not remember the names.. once i found i will post it...
