Normally I wouldn't talk about such stuff but a country which cannot even vaccinate it's population should not have dreams about power projection . 

We are heading the same path as Pakistan both in economy , socially and now unnecessary military procurement from which will involve transfer of money overseas . 

Chinese did not start building their blue water navy until their GDP PPP surpassed USA  and most of their stuff is indigenously researched & produced . 

India spends only 20B$ on R &D while china is close to spending 500B$. So all of the designs for military will be from other countries . 

I suspect BJP did this move to distract from their covid mishandling , if anyone raises why call tenders at such time they will be brandished as anti nationals and Chinese agents . 

A military backed by weak economy is worthless , Pakistan is a prime example of that

Indian economy is not weak.

Its not diversified beyond basic commodities and services. Indian economy just doesn't have the industrial capacity to handle expanding army needs.

Having a big army is one thing. How they fare in a war is another.

I hope the chinese start a cold war with a few targeted assasinations of American diplomats/spies in the world. then it'll be fun to actually guage how 'powerful' they really are.

one needs a strong military to support the countries economy dumbass.. this is the whole reason why China is behind India using its military to help its economic goals

US is playing a double game, it pits India against China and expects India buys weapons from US, which India is not doing

US always creates its enemy coz there isn't any enemy strong enough for US.. next time you respond, come back after using your brain about geopolitics not your dumbass economics

Let's take the last fifty years , not a single well performing economies have any military force projection whatsoever . 

Even china did not start spending substantialy on military until their GDP ppp crossed USA . Almost all of Chinese military tech is indeginous , all india does is assemble foreign made weapons platforms without any expertise .
