you can also apply for NIE. Here is the process. I got it from telegram group. Try you luck

For people stuck in India and not eligible to travel back US due to ban, drope email to NIE (National Intrest exemption) describing your situation or urgency to travel. Genuine cases are exempted from travel ban. They reply as early as 1-2 days. No matter what reason you have just try your luck.

NIE ante national interest exemption, it doesnot matter if u were working or its ur first time. Only thing is that they should feel ur job description is important for infrastructure. But chala mandiki vasthunnai, just try ur luck
