Kuchipudi vs Bharatanatyam

Why is Bharata Natyam way more popular.

For example, Tamil families lo Kuchipudi meeda interest unnollani okkallani kooda choodale.

Ade from what I noticed, most kids from Telugu families also learn Bharata Natyam not so much Kuchipudi, why is this the case?

US lo kooda classical Indian dance institutes lo mostly Bharata Natyam untundi not so much Kuchipudi even if the teacher were to be a Telugu person.

Google says Baharatanatyam is Easiest classical dance and Kuchipudi is toughest

may be that's why

Because Kuchipudi was designed for males whereas Bharatanatyam is designed for females. Since most of the dancers these days are females, they learn Bharatanatyam.

Bharatnatyam has more precise and rhythmic steps, while Kuchipudi has more graceful and rounded steps.

Yes. Kuchipudi was performed by males back in the day. That is why leg movements are more /stronger in it.

For a dance form that originated as a male tradition and later incorporated some of the female elements into the dance, Kuchipudi transcended genders over several decades from men to women to men and to both genders in today's' world.

Tamil Brahmins were more culturally dominant and pushed bharatanatyam emo.

why didn't your folks learn kuchipudi?

I think people underestimate how dominant Tambrams are. for a population that is hardly 2% of the population in TN. culturally their influence is only now starting to wane. after more than 50yrs of 'anti-hindu' (lol) rule.

It'll take another 50yrs for fusion dance to emerge. their grip on that ecosystem is that strong. with foot soldiers like my non brahmin sister, who's absolutely enthralled with the social benefits of being a bharatanatyam dancer of note.

Rey rey rey

Bharatnatyam was formulated not by brahmins, by isai vellalrs (temple lo naada swaram vaistaru ga a caste vallu) in Tamilnadu

Tarvatha brahmins took over and learnt

Antiki papam bapanolla mida padi estav hahha ,idhi maa school lo dance teacher chepinidi chinapudu
