Rental lo unde kasthalu chala, lost thousands because I had to move  , so thought I would finally settle in one place atleast for a few years , changing schools for kids is also not fun , its a hassle to do the medical , dental , vision checkups every year for kids..also finding doctors  at new places etc is not fun again..

people will argue on this but I think even if I don't save anything due to mortgage and maintenance compared to the rental , I still will be able to build house equity,  this could turn out to be a good chuck of change if I have to leave and go back to India , can buy an apartment atleast with this money..

finally , making friends after 30 is not easy , it will get difficult for you , your family if you keep changing address every year you lose all those relationships that you built over several years so staying in one place and having a few good friends makes it worth while I guess
