so usually companies do it at pro-rated level...for example Snowflake....it has 4 levels of SLA. and Snowflake utlisation is based on Snowflake credits.

99.9% is their SLA -- which says we grant u 1x of ur monthly avg/daily usage---this is basically what u pay for..

99.0% - 95.00% ki vellindi availability ante.... -- they will grant 3x-- which is u get 2x more credits for that day.

below 95% velte.... -- 7x of ur daily usage credits...

 

ex: lets say ur companies use 20 credits per day...and there is outage on snowflake which sent its SLA below 95%....

then u will get 140 free snowflake credits.
