That's why every doctor has to pay a medical malpractice insurance . Our company's doc pays about 15k /yr

On the other side it drives up the cost of treatment because a lot of people sue for no reason 

India is one extreme with no legal safeguards , america is other extreme where the safeguards are abused . 

Europe has much better healthcare system and legal safeguards

Medical malpractice insurance does not cover blatant mistakes made by doctor , just like car insurance won't pay you if you were texting during accident

Thats only 1 or 2%. Rest are just scared of doctors and their hospital managements political influence
