House Appropriations committee approved by voice vote an amendment which will keep all the FY 2020 and FY 2021 Family Based GCs in that category and essentially stops the spillover to Employment Based category.

The comparatively faster movement we have been seeing since October is because of the extra FB GCs that rolled into EB. EB quota is this year 262k and next year is 290k. This would have helped to significantly reduce the wait times. If this amendment passes, then all the extra GCs from EB will go back to FB.

Current 262k will be utilized in case if the bill passed into law. Maybe we don't get next year 290k but we certainly can use all the 262k visas that are allocated for this year, which is also a better thing instead wasting them this year and get them for next year and waste them again. IMO, this bill has no value or effect to how things are going in EB category.

For people until 2014 they want this to pass but for 2015 and above people we oppose this bill.

I strongly oppose this bill coz my PD is 2016 and we need more SO.

SO cannot be taken back. Ee mucchata last year kuda try chesadu durbin but never materialized. FY Quota once decided cannot be taken back retroactively. 262k is fixed for FY2021.

Safe eh. In fact this version is better since it says the visa numbers have to stay until utilized. Uscis snail pace ki idi correct solution. Unused numbers in FY2021 can be carried over to FY22 , 23 and beyond until utilized.
