Asalu Gandhi aneedhi oka fictional character in human form created by the British. The First World War left Britains Army and finances in ruins and they hardly had 25,000 soldiers  positioned across the whole sub-continental countries like India, Pak, Bongla, Srilanka, Myanmar, Nepal and other islands.

25k Vs some 40 crores. They knew the result if even 10% of them revoult against the Army. Even without Gandhi, British would have left India by 1947 as entire UK was left with a mere 25,000 reserved army personnel by the end of WW-2 in 1945
