Decentralization Idea

Now that WFH is becomming common in india. Why not take it to next level. Obviously there is an advantage in office for employers - better monitoring/securing networks etc. There is clear advantage  in WFH for people - live in close proximity of their parents, relatives, freinds and  - decentralized economic development, reduced traffic, reduced concentration of real estate prices. All these worries about concentration in hyderabad or amaravati can also be reduced.

So this is idea :

a_ book 100- 500 seater offices in every mandal or district head quarters.

b_ certify network security and all that

c_install cc cameras for employer benefits

d_ high speed internet with back up

charge employers per seat/ ONly problem is employers must accept their competitors working in same area which anyway happens in hyderabad - in one floor many companies share places/

Thoughts ?

Network security. Also monitoring. Most employers cannot monitor an individual employee at home. but its much better to glance at the screen at a bunch of them every hour or so.

company laptops can be kept only in office. special leased lines will be used to long on to VPN. All the things you do in an ODC center.

Yes a bunch of then - you have one CC camera - you can watch 10 of your employees at the same time.

Projects wont bother with monitoring ba - they monitor work. If they escalate work is not happening then cameras will be monitored. its one layer of assurance. In a professional set up it is epxected people work professionally.

I think if an industry wide initiative and someone with contacts in HR of various companies can make this work. In india network is cheaper and better than transport.

WFH is not easy for freshers ba. IT companies always looking to reduce costs so they need freshers. Freshers need extra help with colleagues and office space.

Yes if everyone is experienced and senior then WFH works beautifully most of the time.

I dont know. In current WFH a lot of people took up two jobs with some struggling to find one. Many fakers are also managing jobs by taking outside help easily. I am not sure this is for good or bad.

Maintaining the Network across various remote places costs almost same money as having employee come sit and the client location. It’s not as easy as it sound.
