Andhra BJP tries to score a point over Jagan

Caught in an embarrassing situation over the NDA government’s refusal to entertain the Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme on Krishna river, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders from Andhra Pradesh are trying to prove that they, too, are very serious on protecting the interests of the state.

On Thursday, a delegation of Andhra BJP leaders led by state unit president Somu Veerraju met Union Jal Sakthi minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and brought to his notice the sentiments of the people with regard to the project in Rayalaseema.

The BJP leaders appealed to the minister to see that justice was done to the drought-prone Rayalaseema by granting permissions to the RLIS project. 

They told him that the party had recently conducted a round-table conference in Vijayawada recently on the irrigation sector in the state and received suggestions from various irrigation experts. They submitted these suggestions to the minister.

The BJP leaders also appealed to Shekhawat to come to Andhra Pradesh and visit the irrigation projects. They requested him to release the funds for taking up rehabilitation and resettlement of the Polavaram project evacuees at the earliest.

The delegation comprised MPs C M Ramesh, T G Venkatesh, G V L Narasimha Rao and party leaders Kanna Lakshminarayana, P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Madhav and Bhanuprakash Reddy.

Poni le aba ..first time they are atleast asking for the state . 

Infact it would be better if center takes over all the rehabilitation aspect of polavaram .
