While making this film, Stanley Kubrik reportedly wanted to have that periodic and a painting from a frame kind of look in his film. To achieve that desired look, he got 3 camera lenses from Zeiss that were developed for NASA - Apollo Moon Landing. These lenses were heavily modified with the experts from optics to get a wider angle of view. most of the indoor shooting of the film was shot using candle lights and also artificial lightning lit outside the house to focus inside from windows to get that natural light effects
