He urged that there should not be a restriction on the flow of information. Reacting to Sunder Pichai’s comments, producer Bunny Vaas wrote an open letter to him. In a Facebook post, Bunny Vaas said that scores of people are victims of social media posts. “Under the garb of freedom of expression, some gullible people are posting unverified content on social media platforms, resorting to blackmailing, tarnishing images of celebrities. These posts are putting enormous emotional stress on scores of families like me,” he wrote. Bunny Vaas further stated that he and his daughter were victims of the slander campaign on social media. “Today, all it needs is a morphed image and abusive post to malign a celebrity’s image. Anyone can post anything about anyone on social media. When a psycho posted a video of threatening to kill my daughter, I went hell and back to remove it,” he said.
