Electric vehicles impact on inflation

Recommended Posts

We read every day that in next 20-30 years inflation increases high and prices and living costs will double or triple etc

But if we stop using Petrol or Diesel for transport and vehicles - use only Electricic vehicles then does it impact inflation or prices?

Today India millions of dollars to buy petrol and diesel and if all cars and bikes are electric then India need not spend these crores ad can use this money within nation

also today govt revenue is thru petrol and diesel , how will it manage if everyone drives ev ?

share thoughts ….. 🤔

I think they will setup nuclear power plans in the ocean like Japan does

Solar power panels to cover the canals in India is also on a rise

I think power generation is not a problem as it seems to be

Specifically to india , it wouldn't change anything .

Petrol , diesel contribute 300000  crores to central govt taxes and they would not lose this

Going forward they may start charging extra taxes on electric vehicles to recover the lost taxes

Man don’t speak in hypothetical way … canal medha akkada padthe akkada solar panels pettaleru… 1-2 places lo edho pilot or show ke pettaru … solar panels and accessories moisture ke life degrade soon … and solar plant location has to meet 100s of criteria… nuclear is now outdated as it has more cons longtime

power generation is a problem and people who are working in that field clearly understand

Indian grid and distribution system is not yet capable to handle widespread EVs…

Maybe but upgrading the grid isn't a big issue , especially the one used by paying customers

Again falling in the trap of dumb nationlist self sufficiency theory .

Indian government gets huge amount of taxes through fuel , if they really care about self sufficiency they would check the flow of under invoiced goods from china by bania cartel .

Indian government doesn't really want to lose the fuel tax , that's why they are not promoting EV's much outside of few small schemes .

Upgrading is very difficult and huge investment… already distribution companies have significant debts and in losses…

Like I said the emphasis is on paid customers . Most of the debt is due to free current schemes , states without free current schemes have healthy discoms and low debt.

Since we expect EV owners to be paying customers , infact it would significantly improve discoms health if more paying customers are on board

governments giving tax credits and free charging incentives if you buy EV… why would a customer buy EV if he is going to pay more that too in India unless he has concern on environment… Biden plan is to spend $2 trillion on expanding EV infra … does we have that economic flexibility in India.

Forget about incentives , in india personal transport is exhorbiantly taxed under the guise of national security / trade imbalance.

India is going to charge people using electric vehicles extra rates
