H4 EAD , passport renewal and I 94 questions

Hi folks, 

         I have few questions related to topics mentioned in title.

My situation:

Me: H1b

wife: H4 , waiting for EAD

My wife's passport was renewed couple of weeks ago and H4 EAD is still in process.

 

Questions:

1. Should i communicate with USCIS about new passport or wait for RFE?

2.I see few folks on internet crossing border at Sandiego to get updated/ new I 94, do we need that?

When you applied for h4ead how much time was left on passport?

For people in US, I-94 has nothing to do with Passport Expiry.  it will have validity until your H-1B Expiry.

 

It will be  until Passport expiry for people who enter US with a passport that is about to expire.

 

Now, I don't think you have to do anything but I am not certain.

How Long ago did you apply for your H4 and when are you expecting the decision

Is the passport copy that you sent to USCIS expired ?? 

If so then you have to communicate, as the passport you sent them is no longer valid ..

If your wife is on H4 and I94 expiring then cross border and come back in.... 

If H4 is still being processed then wait, once they approve your I94 is always updated...

Just my knowledge.... Wait for experts to give their opinion ...

chill. nothing to update. unless uscis aks you to submit new pp copy.

 

nee first post lo 2 question nee scenario kadu. It is for those who got less validity on i-94 than H4/H1 Visa due to passport expiry earlier than visa expiry.
