because of the regions these deposits are located in it would been impossible task to US to extract them , because even before the taliban took over they were controlling a major area in afghanisthan , now that they have an absolute control they'll be able to extract them if they wish to do so

china is building massive highway networks in afghanisthan , supposedly to make it easy for them transport these minerals into china

Roadways are never good for such long transport , it's cheaper to transport from Afghanistan to Pakistan then ship it  to china .

Besides almost all the Chinese manufacturing companies are located 100 km from the coast for this very precise reason

yes. roadways are high maintenance. Railways are better. Ships too.
