Suhaas Posted September 20, 2022 Report Posted September 20, 2022 You can update it if you want but it's not a requirement. GC itself is DHS authorization for you to be able to work. It overwrites the restrictions on the SSN. If you are using per se a driver's license along with your SSN card as a proof to get employment somewhere that is when it matters that you remove the restriction on the card. It's just cosmetic but as suggested it is good to be on top of it but you are not required to do it. It's a different case when you are naturalized, You do have to update your status as a naturalized citizen to SSA office. Quote
