hey btw, I remember machilipatnam as the only two train stations where I got caught while traveling without ticket on Indian railways, which I did for 6 months straight in 2019. The station master was so cool. He was cheerful all the while and let me go without even me paying any fine.

basically, he let me go because even though I had no money on me, I obviously looked like someone from the upper class.

because he wasn't as kind to the daily labourer family of 6, who didn't take the ticket for their youngest child.

He was also not as kind to another couple who look like they've eloped (assuming), and took  just one ticket. I wanted to help them after I got some money from a local ATM, but they disappeared.
