come on - colleagues wishing you out of politeness is not same as they themselves celebrating with their family. Holi has no appeal -  i cant think of anyone who enjoys colors being forcefully applied on their bodies especially if they are women. its just dumped on us and forced to accept because "india".

They are more aware than being polite. Awareness comes from proximity. There isn’t anything written in the Indian constitution that mandates the celebration of holi. It is a fun festival and has caught on. Dressing up as Santa Claus and trick or treating for Halloween is not very different from festivals like holi or rakhi and many Telugus do it in the US.

Telugus will do it in their own housses without a single american. There is no chance any reasonable amount of americans will celebrate diwali in their homes. No chance assala. Stop being delusional.

Not right now but given enough time they might.. they happily lapped up yoga and followed/are following many Indian gurus. Still free will on their part.

Yoga in usa is completely white american and mostly women. Have you ever seen a yoga studio in suburbs run by an indian ? its just calisthenics for them to get a good butt. Nothing more for them.

Most americans are still weirded out by hindu festivals and there is absolutely no chance they will celebrate it.

There are already 4 million indians in usa. Have you ever seen an american wear an indian clothing for regular use (not for some diversity celebration at work and stuff like that).

I used to attend Yoga classes taught by an in the suburbs of West Philadelphia. There are many of them in New Jersey  too. Totally Indian concept being adopted. Only a matter of time before more are adopted.
