Ryzen_renoir Posted August 23, 2021 Report Posted August 23, 2021 In order to boost tourism and put Ayodhya on world tourist map, the government has proposed a plan to run a bullet train service between Delhi and Ayodhya. According to sources in National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC), the distance of 670 km from Delhi to Ayodhya will be reduced to 2 hours by bullet train. The proposal for a bullet train comes after the proposed Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport project has also been fast-tracked. On Friday, top officials visited Ayodhya to finalise site for the bullet train station and took stock of yard, residential facilities, rail line alignment and all other facilities there, sources said. As per official sources, the land for the station has been identified and finalised near the proposed International Airport, and will be very close to the Lucknow-Gorakhpur bypass. The NHSRC has even applied for the ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) from the Airport Authority of India for the project. As soon as the NOC is received, the work on the project will proceed, sources said. The detailed report of the project will be made later, but it is certain that this bullet train project will have a separate track from the Delhi-Varanasi bullet train, as per sources. The 941 km track between Delhi-Varanasi will go up to Varanasi via Agra, Lucknow, Prayagraj. But there will be a separate truck circling from Lucknow to Ayodhya, which will be 130 km. The assessment of this project, which will be equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities, has started. It is estimated that the project will cost around Rs 200 lakh crore. Quote
