No, a lot of politics is driven by fiscal policies, people are mostly fiscally conservative but socially liberal but media paints them to be socially conservative. It is hard to find Americans who are actually socially conservative.

plus no idea what you define as 'fiscal conservative', because by a lot of measures Democrats are also fiscal conservative. For eg. Nancy Pelosi, the shining progressive liberal star, regularly forces austerity provisions to the budget committee rules, restricting the house from adding new expenditures without presenting a new revenue source.

US has the lowest tax rate regime in all developed world, and is already 'fiscally conservative' by that measure.

Once in a century, there comes a politician like FDR who shakes the foundation of this country's fiscal polity to the core, which again finds its usual conservative self in a few decades.

G lo navvutharu, if Republicans claim they are fiscally conservative.

canceling meals on wheels programs is their idea of fiscal conservatism, while racking up debts to fund a pointless war in Afghanistan is not.

dude, how come the most popular political conservative candidate Trump racked up consistently higher budget deficits then?

there's no such thing as fiscal conservative at the federal level. Its probably a governing model at the council or borough level.

Its not that hard to find Americans who are social conservative, but yes, the dominant discourse in the conservatism is anti immigration and racism. Not fiscal/social conservativism now.  I mean, its impossible to be a fiscal conservative at the federal level without overseeing a serious depression in economy.

There may be a few republicans like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul still pretending like they are fiscal conservatives, but have signed up to every budget Trump introduced that added close to trillion dollars each year.

Lol, who cares about federal deficit. The average Joe cares about their own taxes.

Green new deal is a liberal policy fiscally. Biden's government cares more about sending a women to space more than fixing infrastructure at NASA, which Trump cared about more. They have different priorities, different things they want to highlight on.

Trump was the one that signed the deal to bring back American troops.

Pretty sure the liberal media would have made it a really big deal if Trump was in this mess.

Lol, which average Joe? The ones in your circle that make $200k+?

People actually have a negative overall view of the tax cuts under Trump.

Trump was chicken to bring them back under his first term. Biden did it. deal with it.

Its a big deal now with conservative media anyway. who cares about this partisan fight. Both parties are not going to accept Afghan immigrants in huge numbers, so what's the point?

As if Green New Deal is going to be passed. Come back to me when it is passed.

Trump tax cuts passed in both the house and the senate.

About Biden wanting to send woman, while Trump is more on the ball is just a childish jibe. I don't even understand what it means.

So spending to fight an Afghanistan war, which is basically a wealth transfer from the Fed to the military contractors is your idea of conservative policy, uh?

pls don't repeat that its better to give the 'productive contractors' who trained an Afghan Army that didn't last even a day against Taliban as better use of resources, than to pay for someone's food, because according to you they have to work to get it, even if there's no work to be had.

That's like saying its better to force someone to work for you, and then pay them for doing a sh1t job, instead of just paying him for his food. That kind of fiscal conservatism is no different from social conservatism. Its almost a cultural value held across different cultures, though each cultures have their own way of dealing with slackers.
