Popular Post Raven_Rayes Posted August 28, 2021 Popular Post Report Posted August 28, 2021 Upbringing is overrated. Society shapes a person. Society encourages sociopathy, they will be sociopaths. Cleanliness etc is not a marker of anything. Especially character. 3 Quote

Wtf is clarity of thought? How can anyone have clarity of thought in this madness? Say self-centred. When you adopt all the values of your society (most of them disgusting), it's very easy to have clarity of thought. But to be wise and knowledgeable is to have curiosity and humility to learn new stuff. It's very hard. Almost impossible until your ripe old age. Most people are assholes. Quote

Compare us Indians, dumb thrash on the streets when in India, the same people when they come to any western country they change the behavior. Thus I agree with you on the society shapes a person but again it goes back to you who shapes the society ? Isn’t it the people living there. it is a chicken and egg problem. My opinion it should begin at our home for the society to get better as a whole. Quote

Better Individuals don't make better societies. Societies rise out of conflicts, and the winner shapes individuals sometimes with rules, and sometimes with soft cultural nudges. Those who have clarity of thought are the society's gorrre. It's similar to 'say a lie a 1000 times to make it true'. Chennai school started by a 3rd rate actor's wife in the 50s, became a top school because they acted like a fcukkng cult, reinforcing the belief that they are the best and that the founder is magical or some sh1t. Societies work the same way. True decent free spirited people can never be part of aby society. Quote

Cleanliness, be it your office desk or your hygiene makes you work better in general thus it leads to better clarity around any thing. WFH made me lazy that some days I would join calls with out brushing my teeth and that makes me sick to the core, as simple as brushing teeth gives immense confidence in me and one less thing of my mind that keeps bothering me Quote

My opinion it should begin at our home for the society to get better as a whole. Society is shaped after eons of conflict, by the winner. My opinion, people should reject their societies and form free associations with others and be willing to move in and out of those associations. Like with a job. Any other way of organizing societies is just oppressive. Quote

Raven_Rayes Posted August 28, 2021 Report Posted August 28, 2021 Personally I don't care if one is clean, or has brushed his teeth. Speaks politely etc But I'm forced to care because society has those rules. The other people i work with have forced it on me. I care about a person's work and how that person is useful for me to achieve my end. But society has other priorities, and for a good reason. These are compromises i have to make to benefit from society. I wish there was a way to be free. But there's not. So i wont say one society is better even if in one society they urinate in the open. It simply doesn't bother me personally Quote
