in the retrospective kaleshwaram will be remembered as very economically done at 84k crores because of the speed of execution. Polavaram until everything said and done will cross 1 lakh crores in my opinion as they keep prolonging it. For any project the speed of execution matters and in the last 6 years the costs have almost doubled because of delays.

Yup same thing happened with many projects , veligonda was initially supposed to cost 100 crores , now it's going to cost thousands . 

Even small projects like Nellore barrage , sangam barrage which were budgeted at 25-30 crores in 2008 are going to cost 300-400 crores if they finish by this year .

It's not the lack of ability it's just the lack of funding  , especially polavaram is getting a pitiful 1400 crores/yr from 2014-19 , around 2200/yr crores 2020-21. 

Rehabilitation is also going to take 30-40 years at this rate
