I don’t go on nature hikes alone especially night time. Only during daytime before it gets dark. So I do not take any weapons like knife. But plenty of food, map of the trail, plenty of water I carry. Plus cell phone although it is useless. My friend bought a satellite phone for this specific purpose. Not sure how it helps
