Am donating blood for clinical studies at work.

The benefit I get is they do all kinds of tests and if there are any out of range results it comes to my notice.

benefits like:

self satisfaction - top thing

make new friends/circle/groups - you will get to know more volunteering organizations, be it big or small, you can decide to expand your volunteering with the information you get thru your new friends. 

you can pass this info to your friends, request them to join the volunteering which would be even more helpful to the organization, you and your friends as well. 

Register yourself to their email list, so you get all alerts, like recent hurricane in Louisiana, and you can donate or volunteer when such unfortunate events happen. 

I am member of American Red cross, United Health Care, Save a Child, donorchoose org. I do whatever i can
