RoadRomeo Posted September 10, 2021 Report Posted September 10, 2021 who first introduced this concept on what basis is its philosophy i see, brahmins definetely has some role in setting up in rural nearby village farm lands the reason i'm asking is......elemental diety deals with spirits . Quote
Raven_Rayes Posted September 10, 2021 Report Posted September 10, 2021 what kind of role do you think brahmins have in setting up village deities? Quote

I may be mistaken....its just my assumption. My grandfathers village has a brahmin priest who conducts rituals at my gps home....Also my grandafther built a temple beside his house(not village diety)......there used to be a guardian diety(village diety beside farm ) specific to a clan. All they do is cut the goat and celebrate with alchohol and kallu All mumbo jumbo mixing rituals ... lol... Quote

He lives in the brahmin special colony and still officiates cutting of goat and consumption of alcohol? He's probably someone who considers himself as brahmin class among your gps clan. Quote

Hinduism has appropriated a lot of local deities, woven stories to include them in Hindu mythology. so i won't be surprised if a brahmin person conducts rituals in such temples, but cutting goats is not something brahmins would include in a ritual. But then Bengali brahmins eat fish and meat. so what do I know. Indian social structure is too complicated to categorize easily. Quote

Hinduism has completely washed over the place. 6 minutes ago, RoadRomeo said: localized hindus unfit for global sacrifice.....i see sikhs were better in this aspect but this hinduization is actually globalizes your clan, right? may be your gps clan knowingly walked into such an arrangement with the Hindus. 1 Quote

I think you have it backwards. It was your gps clan that set up the deities, and it was the brahmins who cleaned up the mess with a mythical narrative around your deity, so you can feel part of a bigger community. Quote

Their religion's influences are even deeper among their several castes and tribes than are Hindu's. Its suffocating to be a sikh. Quote
