Bore water paina tax

Welcome move. Ground water is a precious resource which has been over exploited.

Coming to the news article, they talk about charging for excessive usage by commercial and apartments.

And it’s time we start paying for what we use.

In a vacuum like demonetization it is a good move but what part of India has access to tapped clean drinking water, who pays for the meters, what part of the agriculture lands have access to canal water. A country like India where 70%-80% is dependent on agriculture the implications will be severe. Instead firstly the focus remain on means to rejuvenate ground water and make rules where ground water falls below permissible limits than a blanket rule like demonetization to duck the country and slide further down

I don’t want to get too political into this issue but, if you look at the news article…it’s published from Sanga Reddy town. Neither BJP government proposed or endorsed.

Secondly, this article talks about commercial water users and abusers. Someone selling packaged drinking water, Look at the water tanker mafia. They just drill and pilfer water and sell at premium prices. Don’t think thank such people should be taxed ?

Two Lakh liters is way too much needed than average family needs a month. Anything above this limit have to be charged. Demonetization or Commonwealth Games scam or 2G spectrum scams has nothing to do with being responsible with our resources.

Like I said, we should be fair and responsible at using our resources. We should start paying for what ever we use. Being poor or desperate cannot be the reason. If someone is poor, let them pay a rupee. Is it too much to ask ?
