True. Mana parent or grandparents generation indians were so better esp wrt environment. We used to recycle everything (pisinari tanam valla no emo), plus annnni Matti idols intlone chesevalam. As we grew up huge wasters, trashers tayarainam, especially people who are in urban areas consumerism athiga perigipoindi

Every year I make it with turmeric and chapati pindi. Then I usually compost the water. It's very easy to make idol that way, 15/20 mins lo aipoddi, lots of YouTube tutorial unnai

US lo social pressure endi? Asalu chesina cheyakunna who will know?  Devudu should be friend someone whom we can express our pain and gratitude. Bhayam is insane.

We make both pasupu and matti vinayakudu.   Prana pratishta we do for pasupu vinayakudu just like we do gowri amma for dussehra/other poojas .
