Not about this case, but innocent people are convicted all the time and hiring a lawyer if you are not guilty is the best thing to do. Hiding to escape the attention is fine, but not informing your lawyer/family is fishy.

If someone went missing for long, the likelihood of them being alive is low. They were separated only for that night. They got back together after this scene. She even posted a picture of them on her insta a week after this incident.

Third degree torture or anything of that sort to extract information is banned in the US, this is used only in countries which don't have a proper judicial system or policing system like India where the police are mostly busy protecting VIPs or politicians of the society and don't have the proper training to catch criminals without getting rid of them in "encounters" or "mock suicides".

Undadu plus he has every right to remain silent as per the 6th constitutional amendment. 

Neither the police nor the judiciary here exceed the constitutional authority, unlike in India where our respect for our constitution is akin to treating it as a tissue paper. US lo ala kaadu it's a nation of laws which even the police and judiciary respect the rule of the law, i.e., the constitution.
