It depends on your usage and bills.

In California it usually pays back the amount invested in 5 years since the electricity prices are higher

Electricity prices are super cheap in much of Texas vayyya. So not very beneficial financially.

Check if your electric company does net metering and see if they payback good price per KWH..

I did some calculations and it takes 18 years to get the invested amount back... so for now it seems not beneficial.

But I am trying to understand why others have solar on their roofs here...

was it cheaper before ?

was tax credit bigger before ?

they are bad at Math ?

they got tricked by sales rep ?

Future Valu chusi pettincharemo.

Some points to note:
-Have electric Vehicles and electric Lawn movers.

-Foreseen Climate change with more outages predicted in the future

-Electricity prices  are increasing, Atleast temporarily because of the grid failure last year. (My company started to charge more to stating that reason).

-You don't have to worry about the electricity bill for life. Modern Solar panels last forever and atleast 90% efficient after 25 years.

- Plus saves planet
