Gap insurance for car

I brought a new car 5months ago now I don’t like it..but the price has depreciated than I owe the money..I have gap insurance..when I trade in my car for other car(current car pilot & thinking to buy CRv) will my gap insurance pays offs remaining money or I need to pay for loan

Gap insurance only kicks in when the car get totalled in accident not when you resell it.

you need to pay for the remaining loan amount
