Kids are doing good education wise and at top colleges in US and we are financially and health wise doing ok. People back then got married and had kids early 20 years back which has its pros and cons. We are empty nesters at a relatively young age. Definitely could have been more savvy with investments, there were quite a few lost opportunities. Always have been health conscious, but during the hectic years with kids we did neglect a bit and are back focusing. Another regret, we were a little bit naive back then and helped bunch of relatives, many just don't even keep in touch. Nowadays generation is a lot smarter and don't indulge anyone. We can't have the same expectations from kids here. They are going to be detached comparatively and going to do what they think is right for them and you have to be ready to deal with it. Emotional blackmailing kids like in India won't work. 2 Quote
