No other sentiments my house is west facing but dont know why our west facing main door is always closed and we open only to accept mails/packages...we use only our east facing rear door bhayya...I was disappointed for only one thing that the home is west facing, but sun light early morning falls into the house through our kitchen window and covers the entire 1st floor bhayya... 1 Quote
Thokkalee Posted November 23, 2021 Report Posted November 23, 2021 It depends on your birth star… In US, east facing houses are bad… you spend most of the time in the backyard in the evenings and it will be very hot and it is pretty much useless.. master bedroom is usually in the west for houses facing east… so that keeps the bedroom very hot/warm in the summer nights… unlike in India, the afternoon sun is very hot than the morning sun… the peak temps in a day will be usually at 2-4 pm… and with long evenings, it stays warm in the evenings.. In India, peak is usually at 12-1 so, most desis prefer north facing houses.. preferably with more space in the east side… Quote

With north facing houses, bedrooms are in south too, so they will be hot !! Quote

Depends on the plan bro... and where the bedroom window is... most east facing homes with a front garage will have the master bedroom with window facing west.. you dont usually have a window to the side yard for your bedroom... again, i am talking about single family homes in the south... i do not know how they are in the other areas... For east facing houses , backyard will be west facing, so in the evening, you cannot be in backyard or deck.. Quote
