Just because lower number of people are being born doesn't mean population will actually drop off because of increased life expectancy . 

Indias population will continue to increase for next 30 years and will start declining

But looking at kerala stats Christians were at 1.1 , hindus 1.5 , muslims 2.3 even though all three religions are simiarly educated while Hindus were the poorest group

Population of muslims was 27% , hindus 55% , Christians 18.5%

Although Muslim fertility rates are at the highest levels, it's falling fast. 

India will see its population hitting 1.6 billion before cooling off and coming down to 1.3 B towards the end of the century.

1.7 is alarming for andhra. Especially as improvement in stunting and wasting in children is minimal. we are having far fewer children and a lot of them are not even being fed properly.

1,7 fertility rates is somethign that happens in economically advanced  where most of the kids grow healthily.

Andhra at 1.7 is worse than china at 1.9. and chinese kids are far healthier - how is that better ?
