HSA Eligibility

My Employer isn't providing me HSA account and I want to open my own through Fidelity. Did anyone opened account individually through Fidelity or any other brokerage firms? How much max amount can we contribute to it? Are we going to get any tax benefits at the end of the year?

U can contribute to hsa only with high deductable plan.

Thank you. Can we show any amount that we paid using HSA in tax deductions at the end of the year? My deductible is 1k per person and looks like the eligibility is for 1.4K per person. Fidelity isn't verifying these to open HSA account. Who is going to check the eligibility?
