Blindly going with rice and wheat and expecting government to pay minimum.

The new farm bills would have bought in some new investments in agriculture and new agri business model would have taken shape. Abuse kuda vuntadi ane critsim vundi but which system is not abused? Are you expecting the farmers who have taken a hit with Paddy to take another big risk and grow alternative crops without any help? Oh..FYI, there are already many schemes and subsidies to grow alternate crops. 2015 lo ne ivanni implement cheyadaniki plan chesinaru and they are all in place. Don't look for all these information on google or news channels. Local agriculture officer or MRO or even banks are willing to provide this information. Ie crisis vachindi even 2nd and 3rd crop kuda paddy veyadam tho...lot of instrcutions have been sent but with improved conditions, its favpurable for farmers to cultivate paddy. Incentives and resources, co-operative societies are all in place for a long time. 1st crop paddy and tarvata crop alternate veyali ani 5 years nundi cheputune vunaru, schemes kuda vunayi...sometimes all that you can do is to try to help. Vaampire
Alternate crops are better. But initial investment koncham untadhi. I dont know how many farmers can afford it. Govt should encourage that. also lot of small farmers dont have resources to understand alternate options. It has always been like that. First crop paddy and tarvata two crops cash crops vesetollu. like oil seeds cotton, pulses, veggies, sun flower, castor oil seeds, etc. Best example maa vilages side, first crop paddy tarvata sunflower, castor oil seeds, cotton vesetollu...right now, nothing other than paddy. Some one has 5 acres want investment, banks are giving crop loans. Poly house, solar farm, water storage, drip irrigation and sprinkler systems, seeds purchase, cold storage, farm equipment, itla anniti mida subsidies and incentives vunayi...they are already in place. Inthakante ekuva incentives iche kante better to pay farmers monthly allowance not to do farming.
