Plenty of CEOs and CTOs unnaru vayya with no PhD, what are you talking. They usually have MBA though

I'm not saying thats a mandatory pre-requisite.  But oka doctorate thoka kuda unte sure shot inkaaa, kercheif vesukoni kuusssovacchu inkaaa for life. And companies promote doctorate level board members more in press releases and investors meetings etc. It makes things sound more valuable from investors perspective.

Ninna friend tho discussion ayindi.

He says tech MBA is still relevant, esp if you are trying to get into the top Tech/Fintech corporations. We are talking about a very select list of schools mostly in the top 15 like Sloan, Booth, Wharton, Kellogg etc.

But based on what I discussed with some of my friends who have gone on to be Engineering directors in some of the FAANG/hot tech startups in the Bay Area, they said MBA is a total waste of time esp if you are trying to get into some of the top tech companies in the Bay Area but it might be helpful if you are getting into the Finance domain or the banking industry esp in areas like NYC etc.

Mee opinion enti ee vishayam lo, DB youth cheppali.

Ur friends went on to become eng directors in faang. I know how tough it is to become director in faang. I am one step below it. I can say they are really talented & luck could also have favored. Vallu emaina cheptharu. Entha pedha project ayina easy peasy Ani. May be it for them but not guaranteed to be for u

120k baa.

Not really worth it for that price

Nenu MBA student bayya. first yekkada cheddama ani think chesinapudu below points think chesa.
1. Interest: Last 10 years la finance ante G pagala interest vachindhi. So finance lo emaina cheddam ani fix aina. Eppudu MS-Economics waste. It should be mix of leadership + finance = MBA-Finance.
2. Cost: Ivy or top 20 aithe minimum 100-150K pettali. Manam eppatikippudu antha petti cheste evadu teesukupoi director level lo kurcho pettadu.  So cost should be reasonable but University should be good.
3. Time: Manam H1 la untam. Manesi poi fulltime lo chese antha ledhu. So it should be online.
Ee factors meedha mast vethikithe dorina gem UMass-Amhrest. Subjects kuda G pagala unnai.. naaku nachina finance(Corporate finance, Financial accounting, Economics, Value investing). Cost 900/credit = 35-40k (company 20K reimburse chestadhi 4 years stretch cheste). UMass top 50 la easy ga untadhi...

MBA is not the same as PhD vaa, MBA is a 2 year time commitment ade PhD could take 4 to 8 years(I know someone that took 8 years to do his PhD). Nuvvu matladedi PhD gurinchi nenu cheppedi MBA gurinchi. Endi vaa confusion lo unnav eeyala baaga, ninna Akhanda choosinava endi
