Any of you moved from Architect role to management role.What were some of the trainings/things you have done to prepare yourself for the management role?

There are many   certifications you can try 

1. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

2. Project Management Professional (PMP)

3. Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

4. MPM: Master Project Manager

5. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

6. Certified Project Manager by IAPM

7. CompTIA Project+

8. Program Management Professional (PgMP)

9. Certified Project Director by the GAQM

Having 15 years technical experience bro.Recently got GC EAD.So want to move to technical handson management positions

good man. even my wife moved into tech manager role. she did not do any certifications. she first transitioned in her previous company and then applied based on that experience .

Its easy to transition to mgr role with in current org. Okka 6months - 1yr exp vachaka bayata vethukochu..

 

direct ga bayata mgr role antey kastam. Lot of companies look for exp when hiring mgrs externally

ante lead position nunchi SW Dev mgr role kastama external ? internal scope lekapothe.. no one gives right away kada. again you have to Join as a Lead / Architect and prove there which takes 2-3 yrs, then Dev mgr ?.
