sure merit is best, but when you have networks were people are excluded from, talk of merit makes no sense. Destroy all caste/religion/gender/region based networks, and then talk about merit.

Also the fact that South African team is racist. If you've followed the recent revelations of enquiry into institutionalized racism in South African cricket.. almost every white cricketer turned out to be closet racist. including AB DeVilliers.

created a hostile atmosphere for black players in the team. Ntini said that no one spoke to him, or invited him to parties. They also robbed him of the chance to become the first south african bowler to take 400 wickets.

so given this, its awesome to see south africa gelling as a unit beyond race and doing well against one of the best teams in world cricket - India.
