After the horse returns, it takes almost 26 days for its ultimate sacrifice. also sacrifice antey only once fasak kadhu.. They tag/attach almost 600 plus animals( number correct yadh ledhu, but ashwamedha parvam lo 609 or 619 ani sadivinattu gurthuku) ni different places lo katti they let the horse die of suffocation. then Prime queen of the king has to spend a night with the horse mimicking the sexual intercouse and  a blanket is covered over them. Next day  Raja purohithudu comes and fasaks per part.. avanni pasadam ki use authaayi

 

 aa taruvatha 3rd day they do karma kriyalu

 

 so total after horse returns to a completion of aswamedha it takes  a month in total

 It is mandatory as it is in the scripture in how it needs to be done.. current manam konni accept cheyyadaluchukomu because of out pseudo understanding.

 

There is a tribe in AP( comes under chenchu) which do a similar with ox/wild boar ( this is in 2019 and comes under TG). Their belief is that it makes the women fertile and wonder she really got a kid recently

yeah, according to ramayanam mahabharatham in thier yaagaas time line. annadhanam lanti program bhari yetthuna chesevallu. aa time lo vallu all types of meats they served. veal tho saha anni.
