It doesn’t matter whether the king is alone or not. But, there are 5 rules for the Chess game to be tie;

1. Fifty moves rule: If no piece is captured of any player or no pawn is moved of any one in the last 50 consecutive moves at any stage of the game, then it is a draw
2. Insufficient material: if any player doesn’t have the sufficient material to checkmate the opponent then it is declared as the tie…like king and king + bishop; king and king+2 nights; king+king etc
3. 3 fold repetition: At any stage of the game if the same position is repeated 3 times(not necessarily to be in consecutive moves) then the player can claim to the arbiter before the 3rd repitive position to declare draw.
4. Stalemate:For any player if there is no legal move to move and even the king is also not in check then it’s the Tie.
5. Draw by agreement:Finally, the game may become tie by the agreement of the players also. One can offer the draw after his move to his opponent by giving shakehand.
